A Truman Scholar, Mr. Ross excelled academically while being involved in numerous extra-curricular activities—chief among those his involvement in the Gamma Upsilon chapter of Sigma Chi. Mr. Ross is a decorated alumnus and a recipient of the prestigious Significant Sig award as well as the Order of Constantine designation.
As a third-year law student at the University of Mississippi, Mr. Ross received his first of many public service positions by being elected to the Mississippi House of Representatives. He famously was in congressional session while studying for the Mississippi Bar. Upon admission to the Bar, Mr. Ross returned to West Point to begin his first stint in private practice, an area he has remained in ever since.
Throughout his career, Mr. Ross has excelled in balancing his public service positions with an in-demand legal practice, formerly serving as the Mayor of West Point from 2005-2013 as well as on Mississippi’s Board of Institution of Higher Learning.
Mr. Ross has handled an array of legal matters throughout his tenure, but his calling card is Real Property and Contract Drafting. He has always had a keen understanding of potential pitfalls in Real Estate transactions and ensuring his clients get the best deal possible. Additionally, Mr. Ross serves as the Clay County Youth Court Referee.
Outside of his legal practice, Mr. Ross enjoys cooking big meals for family gatherings, keeping up with Mississippi State Baseball, spending time with his grandson, and watching television with his wife, Donna, and their dog, Baxter. Mr. Ross lives in West Point Mississippi and is the father of Katherine Stringer and Stephen Ross.
